Google failed to throw up a definite answer when I posed this trivial query. Looks like we'll have to do the job ourselves. Let's try and reach a conclusion by digging into the deepest crevices of our collective craniums. Let me set the ball rolling by rattling out all the long names I know. Then may be you can add yours and finally we can pull out the lurking rabbit out of the hat. Here's my shortlist (cut off criteria - 15 letters):

Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri (24 letters)

UPDATE-1: The Dzinebites Diva has rightly pointed out that the longest brand name in India is Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri. This brand now shares the top slot with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!

Tada!! do we have a winner there??
thank you.. : ) think for a long time to come counting letters is going to be the thing. you have inspired many streams of thoughts'.
don't disqualify my winner.. okay!
I do accept museum names can be long and tiring. Am not just picking up random names but the ones which have become BRANDS.
The longest brand name in India should be Sundaram BNP Paribas Asset Management Company...with 40 charachters.
If you're looking for pure Indian brand name then the winner should be Sri Mahila Griha Udyog Lijjat Pappad...with 31 charachters.
Other long brand names include-
Franklin Templeton Investments [28]
The New Indian Express [19]
Hindustan Lever Limited [21]
Deccan Chronicle [15]
Vummidi Bangaru Chetty Jewellers [29]
a lot of you ppl are confusing brand names with company names. Lijjat is the brand name. VBJ is the brand name of Vummidi blah blah. I am not sure about Metropolitan Museum either. New Indian Express is a brand name. but hey girls, thanks for adding to the list.
United Colors of Benetton (22)
Recipes from the Vedic Kitchen (26 letters)- ok...so its still not well-known or famous..but this is the name i have chosen to brand my organic soaps. got in touch with a lawyer to get it trademarked and the guy thoroughly irritated me by repeating "ji ye to punchline hai, itna lamba naam thode hota hai" (this is a punchline...names aren't these long)..
well, anyway..long or short i like it n so m sticking with it :)

I am currently working for a non-profit organization in Toronto, trying to rebrand them. The organization name is Toronto Chinatown Business Improvement Area, which is still alright, but they wanted Chinese in it too. 多倫多華埠商業捉進區. They constantly complain about how their name can't be seen if the logo is too small, and that they can't use abbreviation because they are not well known enough.
There's a coffee brand in the UK called "Department for Coffee and Social Affairs" (40)
